RULES OPEN CALL & EDITORIAL PUBLICATIONS

1.1 To be eligible to participate you must be at least 16 years old.

1.2. By submitting photographs you automatically accept these conditions.

1.3. Entries must be submitted no later than the announced deadline.

1.4. The project is open to anyone over 16 years old, both professional and amateur photographers.

1.5. By registering, you consent and acknowledge that BEEX Project is authorized to receive and review your registration information. Participants agree that personal data including, but not limited to, name, mailing address, phone number and email address may be collected, processed, stored and otherwise used for the purpose of conducting and administering this project. At any time, participants have the right to access, review, rectify or delete personal data held at BEEX Project by sending an email to the following address: [email protected]

2.1. To participate in the competition or editorial publications, you must send your application by email to [email protected] Participants must also pay the entry fees and complete the application form in order for their work to be accepted into the competition.

3.1. All submitted applications will be reviewed and pre-selected by our editors and an international panel of photography experts. Selected submissions will then be reviewed by our international jury, which will select the winners. The jury’s decisions are final.

3.2. If entries are submitted that have received a cash prize in a previous BEEX project competition, they may not be reapplied for cash prizes in subsequent editions. You should consider entering with a new work. Work that has been selected as a Finalist in previous competitions MAY be selected for a cash prize in subsequent competitions. A *photographer* can win multiple cash prizes but the same photo/series cannot win more than one. If a photo/series was submitted to a previous contest but did not receive an award, then that photo/series may receive nominations for awards.

3.2. Winning photographs may be included in future traveling group gallery exhibitions and/or selections and screenings at international art institutions and festivals. BEEX Project will always inform the author of the photograph before such inclusion occurs. Each photographer retains copyright of their photographs and will be mentioned appropriately when their work is put on display or shown anywhere by BEEX Project.

3.4. The full name of each entrant whose work is selected as a winner, Juror Pick or finalist will be posted online.

3.5. Cash prizes will be charged by wire transfer or other electronic methods. Any fees due for foreign currency transfers will be deducted from the prize amount.

3.6. There is no cash payment alternative for any prize.

BEEX Project reserves the right, at its discretion, to disqualify and remove any photograph that does not meet the following requirements, even after the photograph has been published on the website. With respect to submitted photographs, entrant warrants the following:

4.1.1. To be the sole owner of the copyright and creator of the photographs.

4.1.2. That he/she has the right to submit the photographs for this contest.

4.1.3. That the photographs do not contain any counterfeit, threatening, false, misleading, offensive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, scandalous, provocative or profane content.

4.1.4. In good conscience, the photographs do not contain material that would constitute or encourage conduct that would be considered a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability, or otherwise violate any law.

4.1.5. The photograph does not violate the copyrights, trademarks, contract rights or any other intellectual property rights of any third party individual or entity, nor does it violate the privacy or publicity rights of any person, and the photograph does not include:

4.1.5.1. trademarks owned by third parties.

4.1.5.2. copyrighted material owned by third parties.

4.1.5.3. names, likenesses, or other characteristics that may identify celebrities or public figures, living or deceased.

4.1.5.4. photographs submitted for which rights to use stock images have been purchased or granted.

4.2. Entrant agrees to fully indemnify BEEX Project with respect to all copyrights, royalties and any other monies owed to any person by reason of the violation of the foregoing.

4.3. Entrant represents that each person depicted in the photograph has given consent to be portrayed as shown, and that they have the right to give that consent. Any costumes, accessories or other materials used must be rented or borrowed with the owner’s permission and all other relevant permissions must have been obtained.

4.4. Images that are submitted as news photography, investigative journalism, photojournalism, or documentary must adhere to the ethical guidelines of the National Press Photographers Association (https://nppa.org/code-ethics) in general, as well as those proposed by UNICEF for Ethical Investigations of Children (https://www.unicef.org/ceecis/media_1482.html). Neither people nor things in a photo may be added, rearranged, swapped, distorted, or removed. If images are set up, this must be made clear in written statements and captions. It is important, at all times, to take into account the ethical considerations of photography, and to protect vulnerable persons from the potential harm that may result as a result of the publication of images that expose or identify individuals or groups who may be or become vulnerable as a result of the publication of the photographs.

5.1. BEEX Project acknowledges that the entrant retains full ownership of the copyright to each photograph they have submitted.

5.2. Not all photos submitted to the contest will be publicly viewable on BEEX Project. Too many entries are submitted for them all to be posted on the website. Photos on the website are pre-selected by BEEX Project editors. Whether or not your work is selected by the editors for publication has no impact on your position in the contest: jury evaluation begins after the contest submission deadline.

6.1. All participants agree that all photographs submitted for the contest may be reproduced (acknowledging the photographer’s copyright) and used to conduct and promote BEEX Project contests. Participant hereby grants BEEX Project the right to use the submitted photographs in the context of said promotional activities.

7.1. All photographs used by BEEX Project must be accompanied by copyright acknowledgments. Any failure to provide such acknowledgments will not be considered infringement, provided that BEEX Project makes every reasonable effort to correct such omission within a reasonable period of time from the date of notification of such omission.

7.2. Entrant acknowledges that BEEX Project and the event partners assume no responsibility and are not liable for any misuse of the images.

8.1. BEEX Project assumes no responsibility for any inaccurate, inaccurate or incomplete information caused by users of the website or any device or program associated with or used in the Contest or Publication, nor does BEEX Project assume responsibility for technical, hardware or software failures of any kind, loss of network connection, disrupted computer transmissions, other problems or technical malfunctions with respect to the Contest. BEEX Project assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, corruption, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alteration of submitted entries. BEEX Project is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email addressed to BEEX Project due to technical problems, human error or traffic congestion on the Internet or any website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to your computer or the computer of any other person related to or resulting from participation or downloading materials in the Contest. If for any reason an entrant’s photograph cannot be viewed or fails to screen as intended, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud or technical failure, BEEX Project assumes no responsibility.

9.1. In no event shall BEEX Project, its members, event partners, officers, directors or employees be liable for any damages or losses of any kind, including direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages arising out of access to and use of the website and participation in the contest by any entrant. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, all content on the Website is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for purpose or use, or non-infringement.

10.1. Entrant agrees to participate in related publicity and the use of their name and winning photographs for propaganda, promotional and advertising purposes for BEEX Project and the contest without additional compensation. Such requests will not be unreasonably denied.

Code of conduct – meet up group

Code of Conduct is core to the organization, its team, operations and management.

The Code of Conduct provides clear guidance on the standards of behavior and conduct all staff, partners, models, volunteers, everyone work with us, are required to abide by. Those standards are as follows:

1. I will respect others
2. I will maintain high standards of conduct, both personal and professional.
3. I will commit to protect people involved in the project.
4. I will ensure to be attentive to the safety & security of myself & others.
5. I will protect BERLINEXPLORER resources and assets.
6. I will protect the confidentiality of BERLINEXPLORER information and data.
7. I will abide by the agreements agreed upon in the events.
8. I will report any incident or concern relating to this Code.

This Code of Conduct is binding on all BERLINEXPLORER staff, including BERLINEXPLORER employees, volunteers, interns and freelance consultants, whether they are based in BERLINEXPLORER, who have to sign the Code, as well as fully understand its content, adhere to all of its provisions, inform and report, while creating a working environment conducive to upholding the standards in the Code of Conduct.
